Therapy

Awareness • Acceptance • Authenticity

“Am I living in a way which is deeply satisfying to me and which truly expresses me?”
Carl R. Rogers

My Approach

I practice primarily from a solution-oriented and Emotion-Focused perspective, but I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral, and Family Systems interventions. Integrating these approaches allows the opportunity to personalize your therapy to best fit your needs and an environment for you to build awareness of yourself, your emotions and explore your experiences and challenges that have impacted you throughout your life. I use a variety of techniques in therapy that may include empathic understanding, self-monitoring exercises, mindfulness and psychoeducation of theories to better connect with your authentic self where we can begin to process how you relate to suffering rather than feel like suffering is unavoidable.

Through mindfulness and theories like ACT we can practice acceptance around your emotions and create space from them in order to make choices that are more in alignment with your values instead of reactionary choices that may have led to unwanted behaviors. We may not always be able to rid ourselves of problematic thoughts or painful feelings but we can change our relationship to them and do not have to allow them to determine our behavior. As better observers of ourselves we can then live with more intention and be more at ease being our authentic self.

Insurance and Fees

The minimum payment due at the time of service is either your co-pay or patient responsibility (deductible, coinsurance) as determined by your insurer. I am a preferred provider with Premera, Regence, and First Choice Health Network. I will bill your insurance directly, but cannot guarantee payment from your insurance provider. It is your responsibility to find out from your insurance company the extent to which your mental health benefit may be limited. In the event that your insurance denies payment you will be responsible for the balance on your account.

If you do not wish to use insurance or I am not covered as a preferred provider with your insurance, my private pay rate for therapy is $225 per hour. Payment is due at the time of service. Intake sessions are billed at the rate of $250 per hour. In certain circumstances, you may qualify for a lower fee which will be determined by need and availability.

Cancellation Policy

If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment and have not notified me with a minimum of 48-hrs advanced notice, you will be responsible for a late cancellation fee of $150.
